What We Do
Knowing the kinds of things our church does on a regular basis is important to you. Our goal is to provide meaningful ministry that helps people grow in their faith. "Entertainment" ministry is not what we do. If you desire to be challenged in your faith and to grow closer to God, Malvern Hill will help you do that. If you're looking for a religious social club...maybe we're not for you.
Worship
Corporate worship happens every Sunday at 8:30 and 11:00 AM. Worship consists of song, scripture, sermon, and giving. A mix of old and new music is used during the singing portion of our worship. These songs are selected for their theological content and singability. Sermons are delivered through expository preaching. Usually, entire books of the Bible are preached through as an expository sermon series.
LifeGroups
LifeGroups are the lifeblood of our church. This is where the first touch of ministry happens. We want our members to plug into a LifeGroup because it's the number one way for them to receive ministry to themselves and their families. LifeGroups study together, pray together, fellowship together, work together in ministry opportunities, and provide accountability and encouragement.
Each adult LifeGroup has its own personality and way of doing things. Some LifeGroups are at different stages of life than others. Some are big and some are small. It's extremely important for new people to find the LifeGroup that best fits them. We encourage new members to try multiple LifeGroups before committing to one.
It's more than just a "Sunday School" class. It's living
the Christian life together, doing ministry for one another and for others, and
growing in the understanding of their faith together.
Generation 180
Student Ministry
The Generation180 Student Ministry strives to live out 2 Corinthians 5:17, that in Christ we are made new through the power of the gospel. We desire to be a generation that has been changed and completely turned around through the transforming power of God's grace. If you are in grades 6-12, we would love for you to join us as we grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Kids 4 Christ
Children's Ministry
Children are important to Jesus and they are important to us. Each week there are several opportunities for children to participate in the life of our church as well as multiple special events throughout the year. Children grow through their own LifeGroups and participate in Children's Worship each Sunday.
Prime Timers
Senior Adult Ministry
The Prime Timers' ministry at Malvern Hill recognizes that with senior adult age comes a renewed opportunity for mission and ministry. Our seniors are involved in regular outreach to nursing homes in our community, a yearly mission trip to Lynch, Kentucky, and host an annual Senior Adult Fair for our community. In addition, they also gather for fun and fellowship (which means they eat) a couple of times per month.
Women's Ministry
The Women's Ministry of Malvern Hill includes all of the women of our church. We recognize that women are actively involved in ministry in a variety of capacities in the church and their communities. Women are busy teaching, serving, and ministering in organized events and in day-to-day life. The leadership team of the Women's Ministry exists to help encourage women where they are in their personal relationship with Jesus.
Our desire is that women would make an impact on others in their sphere of influence because they have been equipped through our ministry opportunities.
There are a variety of opportunities for women to learn and grow throughout the year.
Equipping Studies
Equipping Studies are short-term, directed studies on various topics. We typically have Equipping Studies two to three times a year. Between 5-7 studies will be offered and they will run for six to eight weeks on Sunday evenings. During this time we have a nursery for younger children and children's choirs for our preschool and elementary aged children.
