Operation Christmas Child


2026 Kick-off: Sunday, October 4

Collection Sunday: Sunday, November 1

Church Goal: 300 boxes

Samaritan’s Purse sends gift-filled Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to children in need around the world together with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.


By filling ordinary shoeboxes with toys and other fun items, you can help give boys and girls what may be their first gift ever! Local churches in more than 100 nations hand out these Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts at festive outreach events where they present the Gospel in a child-friendly way. 


Many shoebox recipients also participate in the 12-lesson follow-up discipleship program, The Greatest Journey—a 12-lesson discipleship course designed for Operation Christmas Child shoebox recipients.


Children who participate in the program learn how to follow Christ and share Him with others. As they do, the power of the Gospel transforms entire families and communities, and churches are started.


The month of October is the collection month for Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes at Malvern Hill Baptist Church. These boxes give us opportunities to share the hope of the Gospel with children and families around the world. 


Boxes will be available at the church in the foyer and the children's wing, beginning Sunday, October 4. You can also build a box online using the link below.
